Foreword

00Welcome

Thank you for choosing the Lexvision LV350 IP — a weatherproof hybrid moving head with a 350 W LED, CMY colour mixing, two rotating gobo wheels, two prisms, frost and motorised zoom / focus.

This document describes set-up, operation, care and troubleshooting of the fixture. Read the manual — in particular the chapter Safety Instructions — in full before first use and keep it with the fixture. If the fixture is passed on to third parties, the manual must be included. Damage caused by disregarding this manual is not covered by the warranty.

0.1Symbols used

WarningMarks situations in which persons may be injured or the fixture may be damaged. Always observe these instructions.
NoteMarks useful additional information, tips or explanations that aid understanding.

Chapter 01

01Safety Instructions

Read this chapter in full before first use. Unpack the fixture and check it carefully for transport damage — do not use a damaged fixture and contact your dealer immediately.

1.1General safety

Danger to life from electric currentThe yellow/green conductor must be properly earthed. Disconnect the power before servicing, cleaning, changing accessories and long periods of non-use. Do not touch any wire during operation. Make sure the mains voltage matches the rating label (AC 100 – 264 V, 50 / 60 Hz).
No direct sunlight on the front lensNever expose the front lens to direct sunlight or other strong light sources while unpacking, installing, operating or during extended idle times outdoors. The optics focus the light into the fixture and cause severe internal damage.
No sunlight on the front lens

1.2Installation & mounting positions

The LV350 IP is rated IP65: dust cannot enter in quantities that interfere with operation, and water jets from any direction are harmless. The fixture is therefore suitable for indoor and outdoor events. Install and operate by qualified personnel only — away from walkways and seating and out of reach of unauthorised persons. Never stand directly under the fixture during installation, removal or servicing.

!
Risk of fallingConfirm that clamps and safety cable are intact before every installation. The truss or mounting structure must hold 6 times the fixture weight without deformation. In addition, always use a safety cable rated for at least 10 times the fixture weight in accordance with local regulations, so the fixture cannot fall if the clamp fails. Attach the safety cable to the dedicated attachment point on the base — not to the bracket.

Three mounting positions

The fixture is fully operational in three positions: hanging upside-down from the truss, sideways on the truss or standing on the floor.

Installation steps

  1. Fit the Omega bracketsInsert both Omega brackets with clamps into the attachment points on the base and lock them.
  2. Hang the fixtureTighten the clamps on the truss; secure the fixture against slipping.
  3. Attach the safety cableRoute the safety cable through the safety attachment point on the base and around the truss.
  4. Route cables downwardsTo maintain the IP65 rating, all cables must point towards the ground when side-mounted so that no water accumulates around the connectors.

Original gobos carry a special heat-resistant coating. Custom gobos must be made of high-temperature-resistant material or high-quality glass with identical dimensions, structure and material — differing gobos will be damaged and are excluded from the warranty. Do not use gobos with black coating on both sides (heat absorption).

3.2DMX cabling

The fixture is equipped with 3-pin and 5-pin XLR sockets for DMX IN / OUT. Signal cables of up to 150 m normally work without problems; a signal amplifier is required beyond that. Use IP-rated XLR connectors between controller and fixture and between fixtures.

Building a serial DMX chain: connect the DMX output of the controller to the DMX input of the first fixture, its DMX output to the input of the next fixture, and so on. Up to 32 fixtures per DMX link. Terminate the DMX output of the last fixture with a 120 Ω DMX terminator.

Chapter 07

07Cleaning & Maintenance

Disconnect the power before opening the fixtureRegular cleaning and maintenance are essential for optimal performance. The operational lifespan depends largely on the operating environment and proper handling.

Important notes

  • All maintenance and servicing not explicitly covered in this manual must be performed by certified service technicians only.
  • Accumulation of dust, dirt, smoke particles or liquid deposits significantly reduces light output and heat dissipation.
  • Cleaning frequency varies substantially with operating conditions; no fixed interval can be specified.

Environments requiring frequent cleaning

  • Use of fog or haze machines
  • High airflow rates (e.g. near HVAC vents)
  • Airborne dust (stage effects, construction materials, outdoor environments)

Cleaning instructions

  1. Clean, dry, well litWork in a clean, dry and well-lit area only.
  2. Clean the opticsGently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution.
  3. No abrasivesNever use abrasive liquids or hard objects — optical surfaces are fragile and scratch-prone.
  4. Let it dryAllow all parts to dry completely before powering on again.
